"Michael Murphy" is launched!

The latest of the US Navy Arleigh Burke Class Destroyers, DDG-112, "Michael Murphy" was christened on May 7, 2011 in Bath, Maine. Maureen Murphy broke the bottle of champagne across the ship's bow. The ship was named after her son, Navy Seal Lt. Michael Murphy, who was awarded the nation's highest award, the Medal of Honor, posthumously. Click here for more on the christening ceremony.

Pam has created two wonderful images of this vessel. You may now purchase high-quality Giclee prints of her originals.  (see below)

As noted above, Lt. Murphy died in action while fighting in Afghanistan in 2005. See more about the details of Michael Murphy in the true best-seller, "Lone Survivor".

A portion of each sale will be donated to the Naval Special Warfare Foundation.
